DISCUSSION
During the round table discussion, the participants will talk about the desired model of electric energy (power) retail market. Currently, retail markets of electric energy develop in compliance with the global trend for switching to customized services required by consumers and with the new technologies that in particular progress in the sphere of energy services, energy audit, management of consumption modes, and smart metering and registering systems. Approaches to price formation that are applied today in retail markets of electric energy and intended for ensuring suppliers don’t support flexible price terms when it comes to supplying energy to consumers. At the same time, as technologies develop and new products appear, sales companies, which naturally includes ensuring suppliers, can finally offer their consumers services at a new level of quality. This will offer the users a better choice — for instance, consumers buying at retail markets will be able to enhance their energy purchasing costs by participating in demand management programs, or choose the type of electric energy they want — green, or produced by low-carbon generation means.
