I welcome you all at Russian International Energy Forum (RIEF) 2025!

Traditionally, the Forum has been the place where representatives of every party concerned can meet for effective collaboration.

The fuel and energy sector is one of the fundamental drivers for the Russian economy on which its development rates and global competitive ability depend. Its stable and effective operation is the basic element in the formula of Russia’s prosperity and welfare of its citizens.

The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation specifically focuses on promotion of the interests shared by the local fuel and energy industry. In fact, RIEF is an essential tool to help with that. It is a unique venue for a comprehensive conversation to take place between the state officials, biggest energy companies, specialised research and development institutes, representatives of public organisations and the expert community.

The Forum program embraces the entire range of topical issues related to development of the fuel and energy complex. RIEF makes opportunities for detailed discussion of both strategic long-term planning matters and certain practical challenges that the industry has faced.

I wish all the participants effective work at the Forum, as well as newsworthy business meetings! Let all our joint efforts address skyrocket progress in the Russian energy sector and our country in general!

I am happy to greet organisers, participants and guests of Russian International Energy Forum 2025 in St. Petersburg!

In compliance with the good tradition, our city is going to welcome representatives of the leading industrial companies and unions, respected experts and specialists, who come to discuss the current condition and growth prospects in regard of Russia’s fuel and energy sector.

Despite the geopolitical strain, under the global changes our energy sector proceeded to develop in the new reality. As before, Russia has remained the leader in mining and export of fuel resources and has been steadily heading for import substitution and technological independence.

The Forum has become an indispensable and top-expert venue where the most advanced projects are showcased. Thanks to its extensive program, the participants can learn a wide range of opinions and views on the most essential subjects of the industry and then deliver some initiatives together.

The energy sector of St. Petersburg, which is also known as the Northern capital of Russia, has been playing a critical role in reinforcement of our country’s scientific
and technical potential. Every year, St. Petersburg shows its worth as regards to lean manufacturing and enhanced resource saving, which ensures both budget costs reduction and creation of a more comfortable and green environment.

I am positive that the projects they are going to present at the Forum and the insights and proposals shared there will promote further progress of the Russian economic sector and support mutually beneficial international collaborations.

Dear participants and guests of Russian International Energy Forum 2025.

On behalf of Scientific and Technical Council of Unified Energy System Non-Profit Partnership (Partnership), Moscow Power Engineering Institute (National Research University) and me personally, I welcome participants and organisers of RIEF 2025.
Today, the yearly-held RIEF is rightfully recognized as the key event in the energy sector, where the essential issues of the industry are talked over.
Every year during the Forum, the Partnership arranges a round table discussion, where they consider the burning needs of the energy sector development.
This year, the basic topic at the round table discussion will be safe functioning and effective development of the Russian electric energy industry. In particular, the speakers will consider the up-to-date objectives related to reliability of the electric energy sector, digital energy, new technologies, upgrade of heat generation facilities, atomic energy, regulative and technical documents, distributed generation, renewable energy sources and staff training.
Participants of the discussion, who are scientists and practitioners, will have a chance to talk about the most advanced industry-specific projects and reason with each other to get their messages in regard of the challenges encountered by the sector across the wide academic and technical communities.
The list of participants includes Rosatom, RusHydro, Rosseti, System Operator of the Unified Energy System, K-Energo, Rosenergoatom Concern, Mechel, Power Machines, All-Russian Thermal Engineering Institute (VTI), Scientific and Development Association on Research and Design of Power Equipment (NPO CKTI), Scientific and Technical Center of Unified Power System, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow Power Engineering Institute (National Research University), Kazan State Energy University and other top energy universities of Russia, energy scientists and practitioners, representatives of state authorities and business communities, as well as members of international global organisations.

I am happy to welcome you at this remarkable event that once again is bringing together top experts, representatives of industrial companies and officials of state agencies so that they can discuss key aspects of development in the energy sector.

Today, RIEF has all the components needed for success. Respected speakers are eager to share their professional experience, the concerned audience is willing to have a meaningful dialogue
and the really varied program encompasses the most urgent issues of the present-day energy industry. Certainly, the Forum has got a special touch thanks to its location, which is in St. Petersburg, the cultural capital of Russia, long known for its large-scale venues for discussions and peer learning.

In 2025 with so many global issues and the ongoing transformation of the energy sector, it is essentially important that all participants of this market are able to communicate openly. I have no doubt that all the means and promising projects presented at RIEF and related to digital transformation and security, tariff solutions and economic models, upgrades and innovations will be used practically and help create an image of the energy industry of the future, whereas the ideas and insights shared during discussions will provide a basis for new strategic initiatives.

I welcome all the participants of Russian International Energy Forum (RIEF), Municipal Housing Complex of Russia International Exhibition, Corrosion Protection International Exhibition & Congress and Svarka/Welding International Exhibition!

In compliance with the tradition, in April Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Centre holds major events related to the fuel and energy industry and the municipal housing sector. All the mentioned events arranged in the same place contribute to effective build-up of inter-industry cooperation and help the participants join efforts in finding answers to the current challenges.

RIEF 2025, one of the biggest projects in the fuel and energy sphere, is powered by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the Government of St. Petersburg. It will cover every problem that the Russian fuel and energy sector is currently dealing with.

The convention program includes over 18 events, but the key one is going to be the Energy of the Future: Sustainable Development, Innovations and Global Challenges plenary session.

Municipal Housing Complex of Russia Exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation and the Government of St. Petersburg. Its convention program comprises 16 events, although the focus will be on the matters associated with implementation of Infrastructure for Live new national project, as well as federal programs aimed at upgrade of the municipal housing infrastructure and territories beautification.

Svarka/Welding Exhibition will bring together top specialists of the industry in the world’s welding capital. It is in St. Petersburg that Russian engineer Nikolay Benardos invented electric arc welding and upgraded other welding technologies. His followers will perform some demonstration welding right in the pavilion.

The agenda for Corrosion Protection Exhibition & Congress embraces 7 topic-based events, two of them being the seminar-meeting on corrosion protection and monitoring in gas distribution networks and the Closed meeting of the Working Group of SC 4 Pipes with corrosion-proof coatings. Moreover, zinc-coating workshops will be arranged as part of the Exhibition.

The joint exposition of the Power & Electrical Engineering Exhibition as part of RIEF, Municipal Housing Complex of Russia Exhibition, Corrosion Protection Exhibition & Congress, Svarka/Welding Exhibition, HI-TECH Innovation Exhibition, as well as St. Petersburg Technical Fair, will occupy an area of 8,000 sq. m and will be participated by 200 companies from Russia, Belarus, China, India and Iran.

Energy of Victory: Restoration exposition will take place during RIEF 2025. There, unique archived materials and exhibits from the times of the Siege of Leningrad and the period of its restoration that followed will be showcased.

For the first time during RIEF, BIZON Exhibition Companies Group is organising Integrated Protection Systems for Fuel and Energy Facilities Specialised Exhibition. There, technologies meant to protect critical facilities from UAV attacks and unauthorized access, monitoring and fire-fighting systems will be displayed.

The Business Matchmaking Centre will once again open at the venue. Over 1,000 face-to-face meetings have already been registered to take place between suppliers of advanced solutions for the fuel & energy and the municipal housing sectors, and their major Russian customers.

In total, all the events will be attended by more than 8,000 specialists from 12 countries.
